The art of support: “I miss you, but I live here because there are opportunities”, Marta Nadolle

“Support artists who create the memory of the times we live in. Leave a good mark for future generations.” – these were our first thoughts when we got acquainted with the unusual project of building a collection of contemporary art at the Museum of Warsaw. We are very pleased to announce that we are joining the group of companies that will support the Museum of Warsaw Foundation in this important project.

Thanks to our donation, the Museum of Warsaw purchased Marta Nadolle’s painting “I miss you, but I live here because there are opportunities”.

The painting “I miss you, but I live here because there are opportunities” is a kind of self-portrait – it shows the artist talking to her friend after work (Nadolle is an art teacher).

The title refers to the opportunities Warsaw offers. Nadolle moved to the capital to complete her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. Originally from a small town in West Pomerania, she initially found the move lonely and felt deeply homesick. Painting became a way to process everyday experiences — painful, funny or surprising — and to understand her emotions and herself.

Nadolle’s small paintings serve as a visual diary, helping her work through the happier and more difficult moments of daily life. They depict a young woman’s experience of Warsaw, exploring the challenges of forming relationships, the painful aspects of growing up and humorous episodes in the artist’s life.

Marta Nadolle (born 1989)

Marta Nadolle studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and Warsaw. In 2014, she graduated with distinction from Professor Jarosław Modzelewski’s painting studio and Professor Mirosław Duchowski’s Art in Public Space studio. Painting is her main medium. She lives and works in Warsaw.
